The
Bath Mystery.
At Bathampton, on Thursday, the County Coroner concluded the
inquest as to the death of Elsie Luke, alias Wilkie. Lucy Issaacs, of Cardiff,
stated that a few days before the Bank Holiday on which Wilkie disappeared,
Wilkie said she was going away to be married to Arthur Coombs. Witness did not
credit the assertion. The coroner said that Coombs had fully accounted for his
whereabouts on the day of the deceased’s disappearance. A verdict was returned
that the deceased was murdered by a person or persons unknown.
